One of the author’s students is boiled by the other students while on a field trip. The unlucky student was caught stealing a village idol and was sentenced to be cooked and eaten. The author attempted to salvage an unhappy situation by having his female students practice native cooking technique. The girls, in modest native garb, (The author, concerned for the girls’ safety, later insisted they remove the skirts because of the fire risk.) prepare the girl under the watchful eye of the villagers (not shown). Two girls work to remove a knot from the rope which had bound the hapless students arms behind her back, in order that they may rebind her. The natives were amused at the mistake of the inexperienced cooks, but after dinner agreed the girls should receive an A on their project.
