MARY LAFAIR (1887-1914)
    GIFT WRAPPED

Mary Lafair was born to wealth and privilege and travelled the globe in search of adventure.  She was famous around the world for her beauty and her sense of fashion.  Having heard of Mary's reputation for style, the native women dressed in their finest regalia.  Above, one of the native women can be seen admiring Mary's outfit.  She appears to be particularly fascinated with something stuffed in the back of the garment.

Eventually, of course, the natives decided to eat Mary.  Below is the last photograph ever taken of the famous socialite as one of the women checked Mary's legendary backside for tenderness.  Mere moments before the cooks bound her and dropped her in the boiling pot, she expressed to the author how grateful she was that the natives had let her keep her hat to shade her perfect complexion from the sun.  One can only marvel.
